Military service is not only about high physical fitness, discipline or punctuality – the Polish army offers volunteers a forward-looking and stable profession, a systematic improvement of qualifications through specialized and language courses, the opportunity to participate in international training and missions abroad. Serving the fatherland in the military is both a source of great pride and a place where you can’t complain about boredom – every day can bring new challenges.
In order to prepare an attractive offer for society and to increase the size of the Polish army in 2022, voluntary basic military service was introduced for people who had not previously performed any form of military service. The training is divided into: the first stage, being 28 days of basic training, and the second stage, being up to 11 months of specialized training combined with the performance of duties at a service position in a military unit.
After completing the second stage, the volunteer can become a professional soldier in a military unit of his choice. During this training, volunteers receive a salary, accommodation, food and insurance.
This year’s first cycle of voluntary compulsory military service has gathered more than 300 volunteers in the 12th division, and finally throughout this year, “Twelve” plans to prepare more than 3,000 places for people who want to perform this form on duty.
